Core Concepts
At Good Tree Coaching, LLC we are firm believers that how we feel about ourselves has a strong and direct impact on the choices we make and in turn, the choices we make have a strong and direct impact on how we feel about ourselves. This can be a vicious cycle or an empowering experience, the choice is yours!
Our flagship program, Empowering Girls for Life, is founded on 5 core concepts:
- Self-Respect / Self-Esteem
- Confidence
- Communication
- Exploration / Discovery
- Problem Solving
We believe that each of these values is critical to well-rounded, healthy relationships with ourselves and with others. When any of them are out of whack, the momentum shifts and we get off balance.
Each of us brings to the table a different set of experiences, background, dreams, visions, and achievements. It is these differences that make us wonderfully unique and yet also bind us together. Each one of us is like a puzzle, a collection of individual pieces that when put together, create a beautiful picture.
Our passion is helping girls, age 6-12, discover and sometimes uncover, the pieces of themselves that make them wonderfully unique. We know that growing up can be hard and we all struggle with self-doubt, bad hair days, and feelings of insecurity. We also believe that it is critically important for girls to see and know that beauty, true beauty, comes from within. And what’s on the inside really matters; They Matter! We encourage girls to think outside the “girl box” to discover her true self. Maybe she loves pink & purple, soccer, climbing trees, and collecting insects – Great! Or maybe she leans toward red & brown, ballet, reading, and animals – Great! The interests, talents and preferences themselves are not that important (unless they can be harmful). The important thing is to let her explore and discover what is meaningful to her.
Our hope is that by providing tools, resources, encouragement, activities, and most importantly – ourselves – we can empower girls to find that beauty within and become leaders in their own lives.
