Meet the Team
Melinda Runkle, Founder and Program Director
Melinda brings to Good Tree Coaching an enthusiasm for encouraging girls to feel important, respect themselves and recognize their worth. Melinda attended The Ohio State University majoring in Marketing with an emphasis on consumer behavior. Her previous experience was primarily in corporate marketing with a 6-year stint in real estate and real estate marketing. Once she caught the entrepreneurial bug in 2005 she never looked back. Melinda is a die-hard Buckeye fan and enjoys music, reading, travel and camping with her family. She is a wife and mother of two girls aged 4 and 7 (going on 17).
Christine Burrell Townsend, Lead Instructor
Christine is a licensed child and family therapist and owner of Sunrise Counseling in Snellville. She has more than 19 years of experience helping children, teens and adults overcome life’s challenges. She is active in Girl Scouts and currently is the leader of a Junior/ Cadette troop of girls age 9-13. Christine is a wife and mother of two children, a boy and girl aged 8 and 10.
Gracia Elrick, Lead Intern
Gracia Elrick is a student at Georgia State University. She is a junior studying history and psychology. She is an active member of Alpha Xi Delta on campus and in the Atlanta community.
Want to Join Us?
We are looking for a few people to join us on our mission to grow strong confident girls from the inside out. Specifically we need college age (0r high school seniors) who are passionate about working with girls to help them understand the importance of respect, confidence, and compassion. You must be friendly, outgoing, unafraid to be silly, creative and have a willing spirit. If you are studying education, psychology, sociology, counseling or other related areas and need community service or volunteer credit toward your degree this may be perfect for you. Paid positions may also be available.
Camps are held during school breaks and may include – Winter Break (Christmas holidays), Spring Break, Intersession and Summer Break. Most camps are either 2 or 3 days per week and last from 10-2.
