These are some of the words we as parents might use to describe how our daughters feel about themselves:

The reality is that our tween daughters are more likely to use words such as these:

...and our younger daughters may not even know which words to use.
Let’s face it, being a girl can be hard! Young girls today are encouraged to explore and expand their talents, create their own path, speak out, take chances, and live life to the fullest. In the same breath, they are also told to watch what they say, play it safe, don’t get dirty, and do “girl” things. What are “girl” things anyway?
What’s a girl to do? More importantly…what’s a girl to think? The messages are insane and the standards by which girls measure themselves are climbing endlessly higher to the point of seeming unattainable for many young girls.
Choices abound and guiding girls to independently make smart, healthy life choices is the primary mission of Good Tree Coaching, LLC. While it may be said that sugar and spice and everything nice is what little girls are made of, we believe that self-respect, confidence, and compassion are far more valuable.
We are tackling these issues head on with interactive mother/daughter workshops and camps designed specifically for girls age 6-12. It is our hope and our mission to teach girls that they are loved and valued and that what they say, think, and feel matters. They matter! We invite you to learn about our Core Concepts and Guiding Principals and what we call The Young Girls' Challenge If you like what you see, check out our Programs to find the one that best meets your daughter right where she is.
